Hello lovelies! And I wish you all a happy, magical and healthy New Year 2026.
I’m coming into the New Year full of inspiration and have brought back an exciting topic from my vacation.
Anyone who knows me knows that I love to travel. And I love planning trips even more – carefully, long-term and with a certain love of detail. For some, that sounds like work, but for me it’s pure anticipation. That’s exactly why our destination for Christmas 2025/2026 was decided early on: Northern Lapland in Finland.
And yes – we are talking about real winter here. Not “it’s a bit cold”, but temperatures as low as minus 35 degrees. Just the thought of it makes you shiver. But anyone who knows (or has experienced) Lapland knows that this is exactly where the magic lies. Because where it’s freezing cold outside, it’s all the more cozy inside. Candlelight, open fires, warm blankets, steaming glögi – and outside, a landscape straight out of a fairytale book.
Lapland is winter wonderland in its purest form. Still. Vast. Magical. And incredibly beautiful.
More than a vacation – inspiration on ice and snow
I didn’t just use this stay to switch off. Of course, there were husky tours, the Northern Lights, spending the night in an igloo, snow-covered forests and that very special peace and quiet that you only find in the far north. But I also worked – at least a little. I asked questions, researched, visited, made contacts and marveled, because I wanted to know:
Can you celebrate a wedding here? And how ?
The answer is a resounding yes. And not just any wedding – but one that you will never forget.
Enchanting locations for winter weddings
There is an impressive variety of wedding venues in Lapland:
cozy lodges in the middle of the snow, stylish boutique hotels, glass igloos with a view of the starry sky, even ice chapels and snow lounges. Many of these venues are perfectly prepared for small, intimate parties as well as larger celebrations – including catering, technology and overnight accommodation.
What makes it special: Everything feels decelerated. No hustle and bustle, no noise, no “higher, faster, further”. Instead, focus on the essentials: two people, their guests and a unique moment.

Bridal fashion that can do winter
I was also pleasantly surprised by the bridal fashion. Winter weddings don’t mean freezing – on the contrary. Elegant capes, cozy faux fur stoles, elegant long-sleeved dresses, high-quality fabrics and clever layering ideas make winter a style statement rather than a challenge. The same applies to grooms, of course: velvet, wool, tweed – winter can be incredibly elegant.

Experiences that connect
What also makes Lapland so special are the shared experiences.
Reindeer sleigh rides, snowshoe hikes, campfires in the forest, saunas with a dip in the snow (optional ;-)), Northern Lights safaris or a dinner together in a kota – all of this brings people closer together. Not only the bride and groom, but also the guests.
So a wedding is not just a celebration, but a journey together.

My conclusion
A winter wedding in Lapland is just as emotional, festive and unforgettable as a wedding in summer, fall or spring – only different. Quieter. More intense. And perhaps even a little bit more magical.
This winter vacation has shown me once again: You often find inspiration where you don’t expect it. And sometimes at minus 35 degrees.
So if you are dreaming of a wedding that is out of the ordinary, that combines nature, closeness and real experiences – I can tell you one thing:
Winter Wonderland is not just a dream. It is real. ❄️✨
Write to me if you would also like to get married in a Winter Wonderland. I will be happy to advise you on the journey and together we will create a great experience.
Kind regards
Your Simone
